The Princeton Area Community Foundation seeks to address a range of community needs through its grantmaking. As a community foundation, our reach is wide - grants are awarded through a variety of programs.

Grant Opportunities for Nonprofit Organizations:

(please note: applications are not accepted after the deadlines listed below)

 

The Fund for Women and Girls:

Grants support projects that  help girls ages 5 to 18 years who reside in Greater Mercer attain success in their personal, academic, family and community lives.

2008 deadline:  September 26, 2008

 

Greater Mercer Grants:

Greater Mercer Grants focus support on current priorities with the greatest impact within Mercer County, New Jersey.

2008 spring deadline:  April 11, 2008

2008 fall deadline:        September 19, 2008

 


 Special Awards:

 

Rebecca Annitto Service Opportunities for Students (SOS) Award:  The award rewards and encourages youth volunteerism and is presented annually to a Mercer County middle or upper school student.  A grant will be made to the nonprofit organization suggested by the award recipient.

2008 deadline:  September 12, 2008

 

Thomas George Artists Fund AwardGrant awarded to support an artist engaged in drawing and painting for up to six months directly following his or her graduation from art school or college; or for a student studying art but not seeking a degree, directly following his or her completion of the school or college’s art program coursework.

Next deadline:  December 14, 2007

 


 

Grant Opportunities for Individuals:

 

Greater Mercer ScholarshipMade possible through the Frank Clark and Bethany Scholarship Funds to a graduating resident of Mercer County who is entering a four-year college or university. 

2008 deadline:  May 1, 2008

 

Shirley Irons Forrest, Class of 1938 and John R. Forrest, Class of 1937 Memorial Scholarship Fund: Awarded annually to a graduating senior from Hamilton High School West.  Application are available from the Hamilton High School West Guidance Department.

2008 deadline:  May 1, 2008

 

Sandra M. Glazier Scholarship Fund Granted annually to an Ocean or Monmouth County, NJ, graduating high school senior with a parent who has been or is afflicted with cancer, or who is battling cancer him or herself.

2008 deadline:  May 1, 2008

 

A. Myrtle Hensor Teaching Scholarship:  Granted annually to a female graduating from Princeton High School who is pursuing a career in education.

2008 deadline:  May 1, 2008

 

Louise Maas Allied Health Professions Scholarship:  Granted annually to a female graduating from Princeton High School who is pursuing a career in the allied health professions.

2008 deadline:  May 1, 2008

 

Princeton Post No. 76, American Legion Scholarship:  Granted annually to a a graduating high school senior who resides in Princeton Borough, Princeton Township or West Windsor Township who is a descendent of a war veteran or a person who served in the U.S. Armed Forces during wartime.

2008 deadline:  May 1, 2008

 

Mary Elliott Wislar Memorial ScholarshipGranted annually to a graduating resident of Mercer County who is going on to post-secondary education.

2008 deadline:  May 1, 2008
