The Aimee Eve Polak Memorial Fund

On April 18, 1996, Aimee Eve Polak, a graduate of Montgomery High School, died tragically in an automobile accident as she was returning home after visiting her parents for Easter weekend.  She was only 23 years old.  A few days later, The Aimee Eve Polak Memorial Fund was established to honor Aimee's memory.

Although Aimee is gone, it is her family's hope that the fund will allow others to be touched by her life and spirit for many years to come. The Aimee Eve Polak Memorial Fund is a project of LOVE - that special, forever love felt by parents for their children.

In 2006, Aimee's Fund moved to the Community Foundation.  Through designated grants to the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen & Heifer International the Fund will acknowledge individuals who exemplify Aimee's enthusiasm and excellence, her spirit to achieve, and her passion for living life to the fullest.

Contributions to the Aimee Fund honor Aimee's memory in the way she would have liked best: by helping other kids and community members.

Run with Aimee History

The RUN WITH AIMEE  grew in popularity from its relatively humble beginnings. The inaugural 1997 RUN WITH AIMEE drew 358 registrants for the 5K Run and the One Mile Ramble. For 1998, a computerized finish line, an Internet web site, additional prize categories and a new “Team Competition” all helped to push registration for the event to 750. The popularity of the race continued to grow, with 801 registered for the 1999 version. New awards categories and on-line registration increased the total to 954 in 2000. Participation swelled to over 1,000 in 2001, when the race was the host of the USA Track & Field Masters Women's Competition for New Jersey, and has since stayed around 1,000. Primarily local in scope when it first started, RUN WITH AIMEE has become a Central New Jersey event that keeps its hometown appeal.

Year Ten...and Beyond!

After ten successful years, Aimee's family decided to end its participation in the race.  In 2007, the Rotary Club of Montgomery and Rocky Hill helped organize and stage the event. The RUN WITH AIMEE Committee acknowledges their help as the event transitions to an Annual Rotary Club Fundraiser in succeeding years. More information about the RUN WITH ROTARY can be found on their website.
